High flow intake?

Recommended Posts

Very simple question... Is it worth putting something like a K&N intake on? Or is it not going to make much difference. I have the Flowmaster 50 series on right now and was thinking that maybe I could get a little better power and/or fuel econ. if i opened up the breathing a little bit, now that the exhale is there.

Buddy of mine told me the 6.0L had a pretty nice intake already.

I added the Airaid MIT tube to mine along with the Amsoil Air Filter. It keeps the stock box, but the tube is smoother with no resonator. Not bad for $100. On the other hand, I did not see any MPG improvements, and felt no additional power from it. It was prob just a small increase that I couldn't feel.

That's exactly what I did but I went with a K&N filter instead. Looks a little cleaner under the hood but I didn't feel any change in power.

I have an Amsoil filter in my T/A and I don't really like it. IMO, it was overoiled from the factory and I can't get the filter to quit dripping oil. I have tried K%N cleaner but it didn't touch the Amsoil filter oil. Do you have any ideas on how to get it cleaned (I don't want it coat my MAF with oil)?

Mine didn't seem like it had too much oil when I put it in. I haven't had to clean mine yet, but will in December. I did see Amsoil has a new cleaner/oil out for their filters now. I was just figuring it was about the same as the K&N stuff.
