2000 Silverado. Need to remove the upper seat cover for lumbar repair. How do I remove this cover. It seems to be attached by a black plastic bar. It looks as if I may have to cut the fabric from this bar?

DO NOT CUT ANYTHING! I don't do much trim work but I know that much. :chevy:

That plastic piece is sewn to the cover, and it's like a U-shaped channel that hooks over part of the seat frame. You don't have to cut it. There's obviously a bit of tension on it from the fabric/vinyl/leather so your seat cover is not all saggy, so it takes a little bit of effort to get it unhooked. It doesn't just slip off, but it does come off fairly easy.

I wish I could draw you a picture to show you how it's secured. I really don't know how to explain it, but now that you know it does just hook, I'm sure you'll figure it out.
