Part # for Center Console CD door?

I'm afraid you may have to replace the whole assembly.  As far as I know you can either order the rear half of the console, or the front half of the console (part that extends into the dash).  I don't think you can order the parts seperately.  Check on the door to see if there's a part number on it.  How'd you break it?

I don't know if you can get just the door, but the dealer broke the whole front faceplate on mine back in October.  On the receipt it says the following:

Replace radio trim bezel.   P/N-15759805

I can't remember what color interior you have, but mine is Graphite.

This is for the faceplate that has the cd storage door and the opening for the cd/cassette player.  They broke one of the clips that attaches it to the other section of the console.

Doesn't have a price because it was covered under warranty, plus it was their fault.  :)

Broke mine trying to pull it out to see if I could get a 6 disk in-dash cd changer for a Denali/Escalade in there.

Anyone interested in one?  I don't have the time/patience right now to complete this mod.  Any suggestions on how to mount this?  It is about an inch (regular din size) bigger than the tape deck and plugs into the same harness.

Thanks for the PN Tom!  My console is gray, but my interior is graphite so that would make a nice 2-tone look.  Came up $16.19 @ GMPD.

I have taken other trucks back to the dealership for interior probs before and never had any luck.  :)  Not sure I am ready to take it in w/my Escalade gauges and large tires/Allison.

Broke mine yesterday!  :)

Am I going to have to replace more than just the door?

I'm guessing it shouldn't cost a lot - I removed the whole graphite faceplate (including the CD holder door) to see whether I could mount a brake controller in the CD holder (no dice there).

IIRC, there were a bunch of part numbers embossed on the inside of the assembly - different colors each with a different part number.  There must be about 10 colors listed. :D

BTW, to remove the assembly, remove the two screws that are visible in the CD holder.  The rest of the faceplate assembly lifts upward out of two notches in the area of the little dished depression under the power outlets.

It sounded ugly when I removed mine - as if I broke something - but I couldn't find any broken pieces or any other screws to remove the assembly.  Putting it back together and screwing it back down has left it looking like it was never touched, and there isn't any looseness or rattle from what I can tell.

Good luck!

BTW, I'm talking about the lower console as found on the Avalanche - which is the same as the one in the '02 Suburban, Tahoe, and Silverado.  Don't know whether it's the same construction as yours...

Thanks for the instructions!  I should have checked w/you guys and done this in the first place!  :)

You can remove the door by itself if you need to.  I'd recommend taking off the whole front piece first though.  You have to sorta bend the door and pop it out.  It's got a spring on it that you want to make sure you don't loose.  It's pretty easy to do though.

Yeah I tried bending it out the first time..  Figured it would just snap out.  It did!  Broke the pin on one side.  I did catch the spring, but couldn't figure out how to get the it back on.
