:fume::confused::fume: I have a 1999 2500 Suburban 4x4 with 145,000. Ever since I have had the truck I have had this strange vibration through the steering wheel and in the seat. Its not a fine vibration its more of a warped brake rotor vibration. The vibration is bad after 55mph and sometimes gets better at 75mph. Under 55mph it is very smooth. The vibration is almost unbearable. It shakes my dash so much I cant use my cupholder. I have replaced my U-joints, warped rear axle, wheels and tires, rotors and pads, front axles, and shocks (this stuff needed to be replaced anyway). The vibration has stayed the same and has not changed after all this. When I first got the truck I thought it was the tires out of balance. I had the tires balance 3 times and once with a "road force" GM balancer. Anyway I just put new wheels and tires on today and the vibration is the same. I have been to 3 dealerships and 2 independent shops and have had no answers. Could someone please help me??

You need to find a dealer that has a EVA (electronic vibration analyzer) and knows how to use it. This will provide them with the frequency of the vibration and with some calculations, it will be easy to determine the order of the vibration and it's source.

Now when I say it will point to the source, it's not so precise that you know exactly which component, but they would know if it's driveline, tire/wheel (or related item) or what.

OK, I think I figured it out. Went to the chevy dealership today and they did the EVA on it. They told me they were 99% sure it was the tires. So, they spend about an hour balancing my new tires that were supposedly already balanced. I am not getting a vibration at all now. The tires I had on it before must have been bad tires. Anyway, THANKS for the help!!! :fume:
