4.3L V6 Unremovable Throttle Intake Cover

Well my pedal is starting to stick, so i figured i would take off my intake that runs above the throttle body, and start there to clean, but i cant get the thing off...and it seems like the little plastic extended wingnut is ready to snap off.

 

Anybody run into something similiar? Anybody have any suggestions?

About all you can do is apply force to the wingnut. If it breaks, put the vice grips on it to get it off then get a new one at the dealer. I've had some really tight ones, but they've always come loose with a little persuation. Put a dab of anti-sieze on it when you put it back.
