Remote Starter Install?

I am considering installing a DEI 561T Remote Starter. This kit is setup to use my existing keyfob ('05 Silverado Crew) to start the vehicle. I was curious if anyone has installed anything like this, how does it affect any factory anti-theft devices, how might it affect OnStar, and if it would be possible to program the start button to take the place of the old "Panic" button on the remote? Help answering any of these questions is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I have one on my truck.. It uses the lock pulse to start the truck.. It is programmed to receive 2 pulses and then the truck will start.. I dont see the panic button working that well but it could.. It also going to be hard to get it to work using the lock feature because gm uses a data plug on the new trucks that locks and unlocks the doors, not just a wire anymore.. It can be done but will take some work..

I just moved to a colder climate area and I want to install a remote start in my 2005 Silverado LS crew, auto, gas 4x4. Did You install and is it working? The chevy dealer says GM does not insall and I went to best buy and was told that my key does not have a chip in it and a remote start could not be installed. Saddlebum..
