Trnny problem...

With the gear selector in D and doing 45-50 mph i will be locked in OD. If i gently increase throttle i can hear the engine (?) clinking, like it is lugging! The tranny wont immediately downshift unless i give it more throttle, and then the ping stops. I know if i drive in 3 i dont have this issue.

 

What's goin' on? Is it the tune? I have increased line pressure to 35% and upped shift point 200 rpm only.

Your converter clutch locks in at around that speed, making it first a release of the clutch, then a downshift to third, a double step. When the clutch is locked like that at a low rpm it is not uncommon to get a slight ping because the engine is really lugging. In third the revs are higher and the engine isn't lugging.

No worries.. If you get a hold of some bad gas you will really think something is wrong

I have this same problem in a 05 Tahoe, what can you do to make it stop making that noise. It really drives me crazy. Thanks

your tuner should have fixed that. your converter can be made to unlock much easier.
