another a/c question

I have seen this question asked all over the internet, and still havent seen anyone give a complete answer. I am hoping to change that this time, so I will ask the questions in reverse order:)

 

The truck is a 95 c/k1500 5.7 auto 2wd

 

The diverter doesnt work. The air blows mainly out of the dash vent with very little defrost or floor vent. Any position the selector is in doesnt change it. The controls arent vaccum. Does the blower fans high speed relay control the selector also? I ask because I also do not have high speed on the fan and I assume the relay has gone bad. Thanks in advance for any help.

 

 

P.S. If it is the relay, where can I pick one up?

Roadrage97, I had this problem on my 90 K1500 and it was the actuator that controls the mode door. The mode door actuator is above the tranny hump under the dash on the drivers side. I unbolted it and was able to see it move when I changed from ac to defrost. It was too weak to move the door. I took it apart and lubed it with white grease. That was a year ago and it is still working.

 

If the acutator is OK, then the ac controller is probably bad.

 

Start with the actuator and go from there.
