Frivolous Lawsuits

Up until now I've had the frame of mind that frivolous lawsuit filers should be dragged out into the street and shot in the face repeatedly.

After reading the latest, I've changed my mind.

The latest=

Family Claims Soup Contained A Dead Mouse: A woman claims that her 89 year old mother spooned a dead mouse into her mouth from a bowl of Campbell's Bean w/ Bacon Soup.  A Campbell Soup Company spokesman said that the company would like to examine the can & its contents, which the family says it stored in a freezer, along with the mouse.

Now, if after carbon dating the mouse they find that it is even plausable the mouse entered the can in the factory, I believe this family, specifically the mother, should get paid. That has got to be like winning the lottery. You know Campbell had a super top secret study done that laid out the probability of a mouse ending up in a can of soup and compared that to the cost involved with making the plant "mouse free" and played the odds.

If they find that the mouse was planted by the family, LOCK AND LOAD, yer goin' down!

Not to say it didn't happen because stranger things have happened, but in this day and age of sue-happy people, I have two words, "wendy's chili".

My thoughts exactly.

But then again, Polak's point of the Campbell's processing plants being mouse-free.

My solution (which relatively echoes what polak said), one of the 2 parties involved should pay. If the claimer turns out in the right, then the claimee should pony up some dough. If the lawsuit turns out to be fraud, then the claimer(s) shoould do some time.

Didn't the "Wendys chili finger" woman get thrown in the clink? :jester:

I don't consider finding a mouse in a can of soup to be frivolous.

There is supposed to be something called Quality Control, last time I checked.

Now, suing a resturant because you spilled coffee on yourself, beat him like a red-headed step child.

Yeah she did. It's funny how during the trial, she was giving the jury the stink eye and looking threatening, then after she was sentenced, she was sobbing like a red-headed stepchild! She deserved what she got.

Dont know about this deal....was it whole?? If so why would you spoon it in your mouth knowing that something of that size shouldnt be in there....Plus it makes me wonder since this can of beans got the mouse, which cans got the droppings?

Yeah, no crap! If it was whole, that's gotta be the one biggest mouth I've ever seen on an 89-year-old. Or she really needs to get her eyes checked. Even a baby mouse would hang off both sides of a soup spoon. I think this is 'Wendy's Chilli' again. Anyone who bites into a whole mouse when eating Bean with Bacon soup is a prime candidate for a job as an 'infomercial retard'.

I think this is another fake one. Just somebody looking for an easy retirement. I found a staple in a hot dog once. Did I sue? Nope. I spit the staple out of my mouth and kept eating the hot dog in hopes that it was a one time occurance.
