Jounce Bumpers

I have a 2004 Silverado Ex cab with the z85 suspension. With that suspension, do I have to add jounce bumpers if I am putting on GM 20 inch wheels?

I dont think you need anything the front alredy has some sort of bumps and the rear no need so i think your good for it.

GM says on one of the sites that 2wd 1500's need jounce bumpers. Do you know what that is?

If its 2WD Yes,You have to change them,Heres what it says in our parts bulletin:

 

"Since our tests revealed that there may be additional stress exerted on the frame when the 20-inch wheel and tire is installed,it is required that the existing jounce bumper on 2WD pickup models be replaced with a modified version to ensure the vehicle performs to GM specifications for the front suspension.GM part number is 12499481 (1 vehicle set)"

Thanks for all of the info. The guys at the Chevy Dealer down hear said they have never heard anything about it. It was researching on the net that even drew my attention to it.

 

How hard is something like that to install? How much for the part?
