Being from South Florida and the only snow we see falling from the sky is from Columbians droping it from planes....... I really don't get what the deal is and why it's in the Winter Olympics. Perhaps it's a chance to down a few Molsons ?

Seems to be a mixture of darts and bowling

Then again they do play a lot of shuffle board in south Fla. at the senior citizens centers and down a few Geritols.

I think it looks like it would be pretty dang fun to play...Just not to watch.

I also think that I would be hammered pretty fast if I were to start playing it.

Beer + slippery ice + heavy objects + brooms = tons of fun!

Each end is kinda like an inning. Each team takes turns throwing rocks down the ice.

The scoring is done as follows: The Team with the closest rock to the center of the circle get points for that "end". They get one point for each rock that is closer to the center than their opponents closest rock. To score, the tock has to be atleast touching the outtermost circle.

The brooms get all of the snow and imperfections off of the ice in front of the rock making it slide faster. You can also make the rock curl (hook) more or less by sweeping one side of the path that the rock will travel down. (initally, the curl is determined by the spin that is given the rock when it is thrown).

Sweep harder, faster rock, sweep none, slower rock.

HEHEHE..

You know I don't know what is is about curling...but...I really liked it..HEHEHE

I guess it's because it brought back memories. I remember four years ago me, my hubby and his brother ( who was visiting from Minnesota) were watching it and LAUGHING! We could not get over the intensity with which it was being played. So this year I watched it and thought of that time. I don't know just one of those fun memories you have stuck in your brain.
