DEX COOL

I read on another web site that it would be all right

to change out the orange colored anti-freeze in all

my GM vehicles to regular green. Is this true and

is there a preticular steps or process to doing it.

I have never liked the orange and it is making my

radiators at lest look like they have a slugde forming

in them. Thanks for any infomation

P.S. Vehicles that I would change in are 05-2005HD/8.1

97-Lumina/3.1

The Dex-Cool is fine to leave in there. The sludge is from impurities in the water, I use only dis-tilled water, with no sludge. Impurities in the green stuff, results in sludge too. I trust the GM engineers. You could have the cooling system flushed to get rid of it.

You cannot mix the Dexcool with the regular green(ethylene Glycol) anti freeze. So the only way to do it successfully is to completely remove the Dexcool from your Rad, Engine and heater core, then replace it with the Green antifreeze. Dexcool works great and it is environmentally friendly(Unlike the green stuff). Who cares what color it is as long as it works.
