I have been talking to a buddy thinking of a vehicle for his daughter going off to college soon.

He is looking at a Trailblazer and I remember talking to a friend a couple years back who told me that the 6 cylinder 4200 trailblazer engine block was hopped up and was used in an unlimited class in Baja and did really well.

Can any of you confirm or bust this rumor?

A lot of people like them because they are small in size, have good gas mileage, are very balanced, have a lot of hp, are very durable, and most importantly a lot of torque. A lot of rock crawlers like them because of the amount of torque they produce at low rpm. It would not suprise me if they were using them in the Baja races.

Team Herzog used to run 2 trailblazers. I think one with Larry Ragland and the other with Ricky Johnson. I remember reading an article a couple of years ago. I think it made like 600+ HP.
