CAI and Hypertech

I asked Hypertech's tech dept if their tune would work well with True Flow's cold air intake system. The cautioned me that their tune was designed for a stock truck and a cat back system or a drop in high flow filter was ok but he said they did have some complaints of pinging and detonation from customers with cold air intakes. He also said that not all trucks would do this.

 

I have the True Flow CAI on a 02 Yukon XL 5.3L and want a Hypertech but am not looking for any problems.

 

Can anyone offer their experience with a combo such as this?

I can tell you that I had problems w/my Volant, cat back and Hypertech w/pinging that would never go away. This was on my '03 AV 5.3.

I gave up and ended up selling the Hypertech and the Volant.

I have all three...Corsa catback system,Volant Cold-Air Intake and a Hypertech Power Programmer III,No problems at all for me.
