Anyone who lives in MA, or nearby is more than welcome to drive down for some fishing. I can take about 4 people "comfortably" per trip.

Chevy4x4 had a good point about a "fishing rally", I'm game  :D

As far as fishing...what does everyone fish for? I fish for large & smallmouth bass. I do 8 tournaments a year with a fishing club (also pre-fish for them one or two times before as well).

I try to get out alot starting April 1st (have to justify the $15000 bass boat!) :)

I wouldn't exactly call myself a fisherman, but a buddy and I do go out pretty often each summer.  Get in his beater farm truck, a '77 Dodge half ton beat all to hell and head over to his uncle's farm ponds.  Drink a few beers BS, and attempt to catch a few fish.

Now when I go with another group of guys down to the strip mines, then its time for business, all fishing, no BS.

I fish for largemouth bass about 90% of the time.  I don't have a boat, so that limits me to farm ponds.  Normally they are pretty good for bass fishing though, so it keeps me happy.  I also go out for catfish occasionally, and maybe white bass, walleye, or stripers if I tag along with somebody who has a boat.  How hard I fish is usually inversely proportional to the amount of beer that comes with me.  more beer=more bs=less fishing.   :D

I usually get out atleast one weekend a month, depending on how much work I'm doing.  Only bad thing is, I know more good bass ponds to fish down in Oklahoma then I do around here.  And the 6hr drive isn't something I do on a regular basis just to go fishing.

I know how you feel, my favorite spots are in other states and it's tough to get up at 2 am to be there as the sun is rising  ???  I don't make those trips tooo often

I was thinking that it would be cool for the guys who like to fish, to get together in a central location and fish, plus BS about trucks, etc. Even if the guys who bass fish wanted to get togther somewhere, that'd be cool, too. Since I may be the furthest west, I'd have to head east to meet the rest of you, but that'd be cool with me.

Maybe going down south somewhere would be an idea. I have always wanted to go to Texas and check out Lake Fork, etc. My wife has family down in the D/FW area of Texas, and I know the husband of that family member goes bass fishing and has a pontoon boat. Ohhhh, that's be cool.

Or meeting in Kansa somewhere would be cool, too. I have heard there is some good fishing there. Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tennessee.

My grandparents live on Bull Shoals Lake down in Arkansas and there is some good fishing down there for bass and lots of other stuff due to the size of those lakes in that region. I remember walking down to the edge of their property, which is the lake, and seeing bass suspended off the shore and a few little islands that probably hold them, too. I wasn't much into fishing then, so I didn't know how to catch them, but I want to go down there and try it now!

I'll probably be heading out to NJ, or NY sometime relatively soon for work, so I may have to look a few of you up!

This thread reminded me of my favorite Foxworthy line - "If you've ever been too drunk to fish, you might be a redneck."  I'm big into fishing and that one always cracks me up!

You might be a jedi redneck if you've ever wrecked your landspeeder while trying to light your cigarette with your lightsaber.............

I hope we can at the very least get a few of us together to fish, or whatever! As it gets warmer, we should revisit it.
