hill/ford keys/turning the factory bolt

What do the leveling kits(ford or hill) do that a few extra cranks on the chev key/bolts do not.  And wouldnt installing new keys have the same effects on the front end as tightening the chev bolts a little further?

How they work is the hex type hole inside the key is at a different angle which preloads the springs more.  If you kept the bolt at the factory setting on both you'd get the lift w/ the ford keys.

 

Hopefully someone has a comparison pic to help out.

Yet another question, if you raised the front 1" with tweaking, vs Hill/Ford/Whatever - which will be harsher?

Hill/ford kits? Chev key/bolts?  I'm confused....are you talking about the torsion bars under the truck?

The key that's at the end of the torsion bar, towards the rear of the truck, right under the cab area.
