Lowering 05 Denali

Does anyone have any experience or thoughts on lowering an 05 Yukon Denali? Any recommendations on what kit to use? Thanks

The Denali has the factory air ride in the rear, so you can only go 2/3 without major mods. I have a 04 Yukon and will be using the McGaughy's kit . It is a great ride and has Gm certified spindles. We have been installing them on dealer trucks for the last few years.

It seams that you work at a dealer or a custom shop, or something of the sort,

but i have some questions for you if you dont mind,

i was just crusing mcgauhys website, i couldnt find the "deluxe kit"

it says the spindles will not work without some modification,

whats up with that

The only problem that we have ever run into is when you lower it with the spindles alot of times you have to run a wheel that is at least 18" and it the valve stem is on the inside then you have to run a 20"

Correct, it is listed in a kit for 16" or smaller wheels or 17" or larger. So all denali, escalade and SS or sierra denali's come w/ 17"-20" wheels from the factory. They just state this so if you are trying to run large wheels ie. 22"-28" wheels, you will not be able to put a stock back on under a 17". On these trucks listed this is not an issue. so i got my 2/3 drop kit from mcgaughys and its not quite installed yet, spent 4+ hrs on it today and managed to get my spinldles removed and one side put back on, just upper and lower a arm bolts, not tanything else, but my problem came with the upper a arm bolt, when i finally did find a way to get it to tighten and got it tight the (>-) tapered and smooth part of the ball joint bolt bolt isnt all the way down into the spindle as it was with the stock spindles, is it supposed to be like this, everything else looks good except for this, well, i will get back to work on it tomorrw, and hopefully the other side is the same way so i can just shrug it off as normal ops

That doesn't look right to me. If I remember correctly it should go in like the stock ones were. Best of luck man. Balljoints are a pain in the ass period, removing or installing.
