whine in front of truck

I took my 2004 Suburban Z71 into the dealer for a high pitched whine that comes from the front. It is constant, changing in pitch with speed and when I turn the wheel. Does anyone else have this issue? The dealer said it was normal for the hydroboost steering pump. I drives me nuts! Is there anyway to fix said problem?

There seems to be a bandwagon that you're not on, and your dealer's not on. The bandwagon blames this whine on the trans. Therefore on this forum there's been no serious discussion of this issue. Just a few brief attempts which were torpedoed by the trans whine bandwagon.

 

I wonder if this thread will be any different.
