Hello everyone i bought a 2004 yukon SLT like a month and a half ago, but like two days ago my speedometer needle does not want to move, it just sits on 0. All gauges plus the tach and odometer work fine, but the speedo needle . It has 38,000 miles and iam the second owner.Everything seems to work fine except the speedometer. Any ideas as to fuses, sensors, etc. would much appreciated.

the truck is running fine no other problems-- just that the speedo needle does not move at any time.

is there any other way to fix this besides changing the entire cluster?

or any ideas on how much they run for?

Iam in san antonio texas, does anybody know a place where they deal with these issues. (besides the dealer of course)

thanks in advance.

* the warranty expired at 36000, what are my chances of the dealer covering this one?

I can't help with the warranty stuff but we had a work truck that did the same thing. But one time it might sit at 0 and the next time it would hang at 30, the last time before getting a 15 minute repair at Chevy house it would at up your speed!!! It would work like normal but when you stopped at a stop light you would still be going at what ever speed, when you started off again your 30 that it set at when you stopped became 0 so when you got to 30 again speedo showed 60. The repair on it was very quick and easy for dealer had to replace a module I think, but the truck only had 14000 miles on it. :shakehead:

Probably out of luck there. Indies have got the public so BS's. I just love to see someone come in after the shop down the road has had their way with them.$$$$

Just go to the dealer, it is either a reprogram for the cluster or another cluster.

I will take my truck to the dealer , hopelly all it needs is to be reprogramed.
