exhaust question

hey,iv known this for awhile now but thought nothing of it and the piping that comes out of the cat that runs right by that crossmember,the part of the piping that faces the ground is like flat?im not sure if its normal?ill post a picture soon..thanks for the help

Yes it's normal. My quess as to why is to keep it level or above crossmember so it doesn't take hits.

I too have noticed that on my truck. I wonder, would the system flow better with round pipe there, not flat? Would it sound better with round pipe there?
