Help! Cut wheel at low speeds, truck dies???

My friends father has a 2500 silverado, 2004 i believe, and when he cuts his wheel hard eather way at low speeds his truck dies. Any suggestions on what it could be?

Check for an electrical short in the column.

Might want to clean the throttle plate. Could be idling to low, and with the extra load of the PS pump it dies. Does it restart easy?
