hey guys! I have a 1991 S10 that I am workin on with my dad and I wanted to stay with the original motor but I'he got to have more power. does anyone know how I could do this? And if it involves parts do you know the company names? THANX ALOT!

To be honest, those engines just are not power houses. I would go with original equipment. I think you will be wasting money trying to build that one up. If he is dead set on more power, I would spend it on another truck. I'm not trying to be a smarta$#, just telling you what I think.

Do a search on Pontiac Iron Duke. Don't confuse your 2.5L I4 (151CID) with the older Chevy 2.5L I4 (153CID) found in the Chevy II, completely different critters.

The engine was used in the Fiero and quite a few other cars.

 

It's been quite a while, but I seem to recall there were quite a few build ups.

Apply today's "tuner" tech I would think it could a decent 4 banger.

 

Still no replacement for displacement. With some cutting there have been a good number of people cramming 350 SBC's in L98's being common for the time.

 

But the Iron Duke would be a fun project to do.
