Adding an AC system

What exactly would it take to add an A/C system by piecing together parts here and there (ie. compressor, etc.) Is this something I might have some luck with poking around the junkyard or ebay?

 

I'm guessing I would need the compressor and I guess its the condensor, the tubing (hoping all seals are intact) somehow get a fuse inline, a relay, a new serpentine belt, the switch to turn it off an on, and a different heater core? Can anyone shed light on this? Is it possible without dusting $2000 on a new system? It is an older truck (1984) so I have lots of room under the hood to play around.

You will need to go to an aftermarket like Classic Air. The factory system will not work on a non A/C truck since the firewall is different.
