1994 Camry trouble

Recommended Posts

Posted

Hey guys, I know its not truck related, but I have a buddy wiht a 94' Camry with about 210k miles.

He claims the car runs fine coming up to speed until he gets past 50 mph or so. After that the car will jerk. He says with hills it is more frequent. Car is a 3.0L DOHC V6 btw.

I'm thinking spark or vaccuum?

Thanks a lot fellas..

Sorry again for non-GM related post.

He should be worried for the life of his transmission (could be torque converter). 210,000 is a lot for a Toyota automatic, especially if it hasn't been maintained. Next time it starts jerking see what happens if you take it out of overdrive.

I too believe the problem may be in the transmission, my brothers old 88 Camry only made it to 120,000 before the auto tranny started to crap out, it would jerk during acceleration.
