Jasonsupafly Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 Does anyone know what Gm is charging for a filter and fluid change on the Silverados transmissions? I guess I could call but my main question is this--Ive read where the drain bolt is an ass to get off and i was wondering if when i took mine in to get the service , if they would try and loosen it for me or put another one in so i can drain the fliud myself next time.. figured i would let them do a filter change when i take it in for the sensor recall..thanks
ZZebes Posted May 10, 2006 Posted May 10, 2006 well most dealerships put that sucker on with an impact wrench so that they have no chance of having to pay for a motor. but if you get the fron to the truck up on jack stands than you can break that bitch with a breaker bar and alot of elbow grease
az'03Silverado Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 If you take it to the dealer for a fluid/filter change they'll just drop the pan the old fashioned way and leave the plug in. It will be just as tight as when you took it in.
Jasonsupafly Posted May 11, 2006 Author Posted May 11, 2006 Gotcha..was just wondering if they would attempt to take the plug out for me and install it not so tight, so i could drain the fluid myself from now on..
