SnakeEyeSS Posted May 28, 2002 Posted May 28, 2002 3.42........... I guess that, with the 360 estimated (flywheel) torque make my 0-60 runs so tough. I was sort of hoping for more 1/4 friendly 3.73. Then I saw code GU6. Yup, first time I checked!
SilveradoWV Posted May 28, 2002 Posted May 28, 2002 Yeah my dads 91 350 auto 4x4 surprised me when i found out it had 3.42s, great on gas though!!
bassdog Posted May 28, 2002 Posted May 28, 2002 I have 3.42's, do a pretty good job. Wish I had 3.73 or 4.11's for towing.
SnakeEyeSS Posted May 29, 2002 Author Posted May 29, 2002 might be wrong, but I though that I heard that there was a trick, if you has 3.42 gears, to do that would make your gears 3.73. Something about the wheels and rear end, although I don't remember. The guy may not have known what he was talking about, but I think he said it worked. Do any of yuou know about this
Guest Friz Posted May 29, 2002 Posted May 29, 2002 Obviously, unless you change the gear, you will always have a 3.42. If you put a smaller circumference tire on the back, it will make the gear ratio "seem" a little taller. This will pick up your acceleration a bit, but I have no idea how small to go to make a real difference.
SnakeEyeSS Posted May 29, 2002 Author Posted May 29, 2002 I know, but that's why I was so confused, cause I'm pretty sure I was told some trick you could to to readjust the gear for a taller setting
