8000 GVW ramps or 12000 GVW ramps ?

Don't go solely on my opinion but a ramp that is rated to hold 8,000 pounds would be overkill in my opinion.

 

Considering the ramp is only holding at most a third of the weight I am guessing since the other wheels will still bear some weight.

 

Just my opinion. I don't use ramps - too afraid to drive too far. I just use a couple 2X6s. If I need more height I use Jack stands.

 

For my Suburban I need at least 18 inches of lift from my jack to get it off the ground.
