Revo Rotation?

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

I put new Revo's on the truck about 42-4300 miles ago (I LOVE these tires!). Excellent wear so far; rears still look new, fronts look good also but the little nubbies on the outside edge have worn off. I'm wondering how often you all like to rotate your tires- in the past I have gone 6k and 8k, but with different tires.

I'm thinking of rotating them when I hit 5k. Does that sound like it may be too early?

Did I mention I LOVE these tires? :chevy:

Thanks in advance, and happy trucking!

Regular rotation is very important with Revos given the issues they seem to have with uneven wear. They shouldn't be rotated side to side either, just front to back.

When radial tires were first introduced, they recommended keeping the tires on the same side of the vehicle, i.e. no cross rotation. That seems to be no issue any longer with modern radials, but I do not like doing it.

BTW, when you rotate the tires, torquing the lugnuts to spec is very important to prevent brake rotor distortion. You should not allow anyone tighten the lugnuts with an air gun (removing them is OK), unless they use a correct torque extension with it. The best way to torque them is a hand torque wrench. The lug nut torque spec for Silverado wheels is 140 ft-lbs. :chevy:

Every 5k, I do corners and then sides, alternating every 5k and use the above recommended torque wrench advice. I have experienced the air gun treatment in the past, which caused vibrations during braking (not on this truck though). Retorqued the wheels and vibration was gone. Good luck

P.S. I love my Revos as well!
