Newbie here..COMPLETE NEWB!!!

Just wanted to introduce myself. Im getting ready to sell my 2000 Camaro LS1 so that I can get my self a nice 4x4 truck. I plan to lift it for sure, because I go to the beach alot.

Ive been looking at lift kits and realized that I KNOW NOTHING about lifts. At first, I thought I can just pick out a 6" lift, pick some tires and thats that. Now I see that there are so many things I need to know about, spindles, torsion bars, shackles, and who knows what else.

Anyways, I plan to get a late model 1/2 ton GM and install a 6" lift and maybe some 18" wheels.

Can someone please help a newb and point me somewhere that has all the info on lift kits and such? Kind of like a "suspension lifts for dummies" type of deal. Thanks.

If anyone needs info on late model camaros and firebirds Im your man. Ive had 2 LS1's in the past 6 years and am mechanically inclined. Ive installed cams, valvetrains, etc. So I definitely know how to turn a wrench

p.s. If anyonme wants to trade a 4x4 Chevy for my Camaro let me know. I am located in Ca.
