custom vs. pre-made exhaust

I have a 98 GMC K1500 5.0L and was thinking about putting a dual exhaust out the back on it. I have looked at the pre-made kits that you install yourself and have called some exhaust shops. The exhaust shop is a little bit more than the pre-made kit (by about $40), but I was wondering if anyone had any problems installing a pre-made exhaust. Has anyone taken one way over the other and offer any advice. Thanks

I've always gone the custom way because I get it done cheap. I'm getting mine done tuesday for $250. It's gonna be a cat back 1 inlet 2 outlet flowmaster out to my chrome tips.

 

But if you go the premade system route, you usually get Manderal (sp?) bent pipe. To some people it makes a difference, just makes the exhaust flow smoother.
