2003 Silverado Ujoints

Do I need a torch to remove the ujoints in my 2003 Silverado 4x4 rear drivshaft (alum)?

I had to use a torch on my 2000 silverado u-joints. I had tried a propane torch (black bottle) but my friend said next time use the yellow bottle, it will be hotter. I wound up using his oxy acetelyine torch.

I didnt need one for my 00 when I changed them.

i needed it for mine but watch the glue a couple of mine creeped out and the others shot the glue be careful my mechanic said it only comes off when the skin does
