hooking up my Prodigy

I got the vehicle specific wiring harness for my 02 Chevy 2500hd with my T. Prodigy. Looked at it last night but couldn't see where it plugged under the dash, granted it was dark. I won't be able to look at the truck again until tonight since its out working but if someone could share that littel bit of info I'd greatly appreciate it!

My understanding is plug it in, put a 40A fuse in the fuse box and good to go................right?

thanks!

On my 03 truck there is a black box just above your left foot, pull the cover off and simply plug it in and put the cover back on. The plug will only go in one spot.

Yes you will need to put the fuse in, if you want to charge your trailer batteries.

That's it.

Of course you will have to fine tune the settings on the controller once you have hooked up to your trailer.

Hope this helps.

Under the steering column, against the firewall, you will see a black box about 8" X 3". Under it is the plug for the trailer brake controller harness. Plug it in and you are powered up with brakes. And yes you are correct about the fuse. It is for the +12V supply to the trailer. It has a red dummy fuse in it's place. Mine had a bar code sticker across it.

i'm actually really impressed as to how well just the truck brakes it down with the trailor behind it right now............10k GW trailor.........prob had it up to 7k........5-6 several times, does just fine but you can feel it though

Using a smaller fuse will not hurrt anything it will definately blow before the circuit ever comes close to fizzling. A 40amp is what GM says to use. GM... RV guy... GM... RV guy... Yeah, my vote is on GM.
