Nah! I ran a synthetic in my old truck that had 160,000 miles on a 350. The motor was starting to use a little oil, so I would have to add a quart between changes. I used a heavier oil, 10w-40 Mobil 1. I use Royal Purple in my current pickup, and it's got almost 100,000 miles.

 

Just change over and keep running synthetic, don't change back and forth.

I would not bother now, just stay the course as you will never see a return on investment and I have seen many motor go well past 200K on dino oil.
