Changing bench to bucket seats - compatible years?

Hi al,

I recently bought a 96 Sierra 2500 TD x-cab in blue cloth 60/40, and I find the bench seat very uncomfortable. I want to swap in buckets from a comparable cab.

Is the pass seat the same as the bucket in a twin bucket setup?

What years will I find the blue cloth used in 96?

Has anyone done this and recognized the diffference in comfort?

Any and all input welcome - thanks.

I can answer the first two for sure....

1. No,The 60/40 passenger seat is not the same as the bucket passenger seat (The bucket seats have inboard armrests where as the 60/40 seat has a center "pull-down" console/armrest)

2.According to the parts catalog they used that blue (RPO Code 26D) from '95 to '99.

Can't really answer the third question as all my trucks have had the bucket seats.

But I can tell you that out of all the trucks I've had my '97 K1500 had the most comfortable seats out of all of them. (It also had the optional 6-way power driver seat adjuster)
