Lowering advice for S-trucks

Recommended Posts

At a stock stance it appears that the front end on S-trucks sit higher than the rear. This just may be my perception but my Sonoma looks as if it is always carrying a load. If I wanted to lower my Sonoma and have it sit level, would I need to lower the front an inch more than the rear? Also, are S-trucks like fullsize when it comes to using drop spindles. I had to notch my lower control arms when I lowered my Sierra using drop spindles. I could have prevented all the work by getting 17" wheels, but are the S-trucks the same? I thank you for any and all advice.

If you did a 2"coil it would drop the front slightly more than the rear, but be aware that the springs for '82-'00 are different than the '01 and up springs. You didn't specify the year of your truck, just make sure you get the right 2" drop springs for it. Coils are the way to go for a small drop, spindles are OK too, just depends on your pockets.
