Warranty on dash??

I have a Silverado that is 11 months old.  On the dash above the radio I have developed an area about 1/2X1/8 inch that has just peeled off for no reason.  I never touch that area of the dash.  I have graphite as my interior color and  there is black underneath the graphite dash that sticks out like a sore thumb.  Looks like in order to fix it I would have to have the entire dash changed.  Should something like this be covered under warranty.  It looks like there are other small black spots around this area so looks like there is more to come off.  Thanks

Yes, it should be covered under warranty.  Look at some of the other interior pieces to see if they are starting to do the same, and point them out to your dealer so they can take care of them all at once, if needed.

I've seen a few people comment on the same problem you have and it was covered under warranty.

Good luck.  :)

Had this happen on my 95.  They don't replace the dash, they just repaint it.  It's all black plastic that's been painted.  When they fixed my 95 I couldn't tell where they had done the work and it never re-pealed.

Thanks CityTruck, that sounds more sensible than what I was thinking.  It looks like that area was really hit pretty light when they painted it.  Hopefully when they repaint it, it will be a much better job.

Just as an update to this post, waited to see how much my dash would peel.  It is now about twice as big. Anyway to answer my original question, this is under warranty and the chevy place orderd me a new dash without hesitation.  Looks like this area of my dash was hit pretty light with paint on the old assembly line.

That happened on my 2000 truck.  It was covered by warranty and they repainted it.  The service guy at the dealership told me not to use any kind of chemicals on the dash like armorall, etc.  The chemicals cause the paint to peel off.  So now I use a wet cloth.

Seems I just can't win.  Brought my truck in today to change the dash. Took about 4 hours.  When i get back in my truck, in about the same area my dash was peeling, there is now about a 2 inch scratch, looks like happened during installation.  All that for nothing. I showed it to a customer service person before I left, really didn't seem to care.  Should I have them put a new one?
