Sled Truck Pulls

I was wondering..... Has anybody out there ever entered a 1500 Silverado 4x4 in a truck pull competition.

 

I am wondering how a stock 5.3 powered 1500 would do.

I seen a couple in the small block class last night at a local event but they were 6.0 1500 HDs.

I can honestly say that ive never seen a 1/2 ton truck attempt it....but i say why the heck not... Give er' a whirl! Whats the worst that can happen, your break a u-joint or something?

Sounds like fun. I'd enter it, even though I probably wont win, I should have a blast doing it.

 

BTW..the only 1/2 ton I have is the 4.3L 2WD....

A few Saturdays ago I was at the pulls and someone entered a 05 with the 5.3, came in second out of 9 vehicles. A Hemi beat it but the Dodge did have much more pulling friendly tires on it, Chevy had stock junkers on.
