2003 Silverado Wiper Problem

I just bought this truck a few weeks ago. Any, I went to clean my windshield today and assumed that the wipers would stand up and out of the way like all other cars. But when I did that the hook that ties to the tension spring popped out. Well it is impossible to get back in. So, I figured that If I removed the wiper blade I could do it. I took off the nut at the arm pivot but can't get the arm off. It is as firm as when the nut was on.

 

What am I missing?

I had the same problem when I tried to get my arm off. I never did get it, but my best guess is you'll need some kind of small puller to get the arm off of the post.

Here ya go. This is for an 03 Avalanche, but I'm sure it's the same procedure for the Pickups.
