Headers installed, truck runs like sh*t

I bought some shorty headers to replace the stock manifolds. I had them installed at a local shop. One of the manifold bolts was rusted in half. The shop had to pull the head on the driver's side to remove the bolt. Got that done, head and new head gasket put on, and had new cats installed in place of the old ones. Here's the problem...

I had a WaitForMe pcm tune. Now, my truck won't go past 3K on the tach before it shifts. When I take off, it feels like I'm taking off in 2nd gear. Real slow, unresponsive, and sluggish. And when I put it in gear from park, the rpms go down to around 200 and it feels like it's going to die. That's only for a couple of seconds, and then it goes back into a normal idle of around 500 rpms. Does anyone know what might be wrong? Did my tune get reset? The truck was in the shop for 5 days, and the battery was disconnected for I don't know how long.

This is on an '00 5.3 Z-71.

If even the tune got reset, I wouldn't expect the truck to run like that.

And having the battery disconnected wouldn't reset the tune anyways....when Jesse sends you the tune, the pcm isn't connected for days.

I would suspect that fact the one of the heads had to be removed. Perhaps it's wasn't put back on correctly. I would go back to the shop for sure.

Let us know what the issue turns out to be. I've been thinking about getting headers installed on my truck....after reading your post, now I don't know. :(
