03 silverado

i got an 03 silverado z71 ext cab. i picked up a vibration in the front, not the steering clunk. i mean the whole d**n truck shakes like a tire is about to fall off. it only does it when i am braking, down to like 30 mph. so from wherever i start braking to 30 it's bad.

 

i changed to front brakes, new rotors, turned the new ones. old tires were wearing in center, so new tires and a 4 wheel alignment. no codes are showing up but it feels like a got something going with the abs. almost like i got a tire hanging up. please, somebody help. i can't afford the $75 an hour the dealership wants just to diagnose a problem.

you gotta be careful when you do this BUT here is one way.

 

jack the POS up and put it on jackstands.

 

run it in drive (4wd) and look at the wheels and see if anything is bouncing or wobbling. if no result go to next step.

 

if you dont see anything, pull one wheel assy. and run it up to 30 mph and see if problem went away.

 

do that with other tire also.. if still has a vibration with wheels off, problem is in the axles, Cv joints etc...
