Help Selecting a new tire, BFG A\T's or what else

alright, right now i have a 02 silverado 2500hd dura. i work construction so i need a tire that will stand up to rough terrains and also highway and towing. right now i have Interco TRXUS m\t tire. they are wearing down REALLY fast and they are not very good on the highway.

i want something that i can go in and out of jobs and not worry about getting stuck, (nothing too crazy) and also be fairly puncture resistant and be good on the highway and still maintain good mileage.

I have had the BFG a\t's 285\75\16 on my old sierra 1500 and they were a great tire, but they are very expensive and was thinking of going a different route cuz ive already tried those ones. how are the PRO COMP all terrains? or perhaps the Nokian HAK10 or something, all of these tires look good, but i need some help deciding.

I feel very strongly that you get what you pay for when buying tires in most cases and with the BFG AT, you DO get what you pay for. I have had a couple sets and they are the perfect tire for what you are looking for.

yea the bfg's are only an 8 ply. my interco's are 10. but 8 ply is fine for a 3\4 ton, it might soften the ride up a little bit which might not be to bad of an idea.

what about the pro comp all terrains or the mickey thompson baja atz?

make sure you dont go down in load range. I dont think you can get bfg AT in load range E.

According to tirerack, the BFG's do come in a load range E, for about $150/tire. I've heard good things about the Bridgestone REVO's too, but they're also kinda on the expensive side. Money's tight, but in the next week or two I'm getting new tires. I'll be going with General Grabber AT2's, as they're load range E, and have almost the exact same tread as the BFG's. I've had BFG's on previous vehicles before and they're EXCELLENT tires, I'm hoping the General's are just as good.

If they are from the same company that makes the general tires that alot of Colorado owners have to suffer thru no thanks i don't even think i would take them for free. Not sure about the model tires you have, but the stockers gm has been putting on some of there trucks have been terrible at best.
