Hummer or Honda

I had few Honda vehicles and never had much of a problem with them. I decided to try a hummer, and am now paying for my decision, and paying , and paying, and paying. Much is still under warranty, but I never thought I would use all my vacation up taking it back to the dealer. The last problem was a broken weld on the spare tire rack. The problem with GM is they farm too much of their parts out to sub-standard companies. This is the first GM truck I’ve had in 15 yrs, and the last.

Down Kujo,

There are ways to get that dealt with, you could have a lemon law cas on your hands. I' sorry you've had a bad experince with the hummer but dont lump it in with trucks, it is a whole other animal, all it is is a big SUV, i have an 06 sierra that has only had one problem in 16,500 miles. So calm down and look at this rationally.

I kinda feel like the newer GM products quality has gone down also. GM is still a great company and I have always been a GM man. I just don't think I will be trading up my 97 GMC until I feel a little better about the new stuff. If you take care of an older GM they can run forever, the newer ones I think are a bit questionable.

I also feel it's NOT a troll...

This is also the LAST GM I will ever own.

And I've been GM all my life.....

Crappy farmed out work and inferior parts

+1 These are 2 different vehicles

As for the paying part, thats the price you pay for that type of vehicle. (....I'm sorry 'bout the sarcasm)

What other problem have you had?

As for a broken weld, thats alot to break. (not saying it didnt happen)

Also I'm sure Honda subs out to a "sub-standard" or lowest bidder company for parts also. Dont just hit up GM, all the car manufactures do it.

At least I’m not alone. I was talking to GM mechanic today and he confirmed my suspicions. He told me he’s seen an increase in problems with welded assemblies in new trucks in the last couple years, cross members, motor mounts, and trailer hitches in particular. Maybe I can get one those doughnut wheels to mount on back for a spare, till I can dump this thing. And make it a point not to get behind a GM truck towing anything.

What confuses me is why Mr. Anti-GM Truck guy here made it a point and took the time to sign up here at GM-TC (which was originally intended for GM enthusiasts, not haters) and make 2 full posts on how all his problems with his hummer makes GM as a whole a totally disgraceful Automobile Company, and he will will never own a GM again.

So I will ask you hondaguy, why?

My 2000 has been virtualy problem free and what problems I have had are very minor.

Good luck getting anything quality from anyone anymore. Unfortunately, we live in a "disposable society".
