Pioneer HU

Replaced my HU with a Pioneer and thought I would stop there. Well now I'm thinking about replacing the speakers, adding an amp,and a powered sub. What advice can someone give me on what speakers to get and a decent 4 channel amp,also what are the thoughts on a 8or10 inch Bazooka?

Bazookas are good if you plan on taking it out frequently, and that's about it (but they're perfet for it). They sound okay, but nothing special.

You could probably buy a 5 channel amp that would run everything (not to mention simplify the install) pretty easily.

You'll get a million opinions on speaker brands...But you'll just have to listen to some to get a feel for what type of sound you like.

Infinity, Boston Acoustics, Polk, and a few others make great mid-level products....Or you could go high-end with one pair of Focal components for $4100.00 (they have much cheaper, but GREAT products too).

I actually looked at Polks yesterday at Circuit City,they have a Polk Special going on.

There are component speaker sets for mobile audio that range from around $50, all the way up to about $80,000....thats right.

$80,000 for 6 speakers.

I just recently replaced the audio system in my 02 Silverado. I too went w/ a Pioneer HU and replaced the factory speakers w/ the Polk MMC 6500 (front) and Polk MMC 460 (rear) sets. I also installed a Polk Momo C400.1 amp to power those. I added an MTX amplified ThunderForm (yeah I know a lot of people don't care for the plastic sub enclosures but this one does just want I want and looks like it came installed in the truck). Lastly I added/replaced all of the existing wiring w/ Street Wires products and the outcome is "awesome" to say the least. You won't believe how cheap those factory speakers really are until you take them out and toss them in the trash can.
