auto dual climate control

Wasn't sure which board to post this on, so I think this might be the most applicable.

 

I've got an 06 1500CC with automatic dual climate control. I have a question regarding the "recirc" button. Most of the time when I get back in my truck, the recirc button is no longer lit up. So, I have to hit it again. No problem. My question is why is it sometimes, when I start my truck, the recirc light is on? And sometimes when I turn it on, it flashes.

 

I haven't noticed any common factors to which relate the different occurences.

I know it's a late response but my 03 does the same thing. It's one of those annoying features. If it's too hot outside then the recirc will come on by itself and then go off once the cabin is cool enough.

 

I use the recirc when I'm towing so the compressor doesn't have to work as hard colling hot outside air.
