Torsion bar adjustment

Should I jack up the front end when adjusting the torsion bars on my 99 Tahoe? The a arm is just about touching the bump stops. I jsut want about a 1/4 clearance there, so I will turn one full turn for 1/4 inch correct? I will get an alignment after. Thanks all!

  Have a look at the Diode Dynamic C1R light. It installs in minutes with their wiring harness and is super bright when backing up.   Guys, thank you so much for the help! Dealer called back and is willing to participate $7,000 towards lifter and cam shaft replacement. Basically complete engine rebuild. Our cost will be 5k. These replacement parts will be covered by a 3 year 36,000 mile warranty.
