Sierra or Silverado?

Just curious about the two. Does Sierra have a different suspension than Silverado? I have a crew cab silverado 05 that rides like crap with 19k miles on it, I drove my bosses 04 Sierra crew cab with 60k miles on it and it drives like a totally different vehicle, it is incredibly smooth riding for a truck. Both trucks are 2 wheel drive but his is a LT and mine is a LS.

Well on my sticker on the truck window I still have it says I payed 625.00 for light duty power package. It says 5.3L 295HP Iron BLK V8, Locking differential rear axle, HD Trailering Equipment. Is this the Z85 package people talk about?

your suspension could be a little stiffer then his.

My advice is to get rid of those pos General tires. Get some LTX M/S and that will help you out some.

I know...I already posted in another thread here about these CRAPPY Generals. My 2000 Silverado had them also. I can't believe they are still putting them on our trucks. Must be a hell of a deal Chevy has with General. Gonna burn these off as soon as the motor is broken in a little bit, then I will get some Michelins as you said. Had them on my 2000 Silverado, and never had a problem with them. They were great....good traction, wet or dry.

I used to work for a GMC dealer and we had a factory rep come in once and he taught us the differences between the Silverado and Seirra. I don't remember all the specifics, but I do remember him saying that the Seirra gets better sound insulation. I want to say that they get a better riding suspension but I couldn't swear it. He also said that they have wider tires and build way fewer Seirras. The whole point was that the Seirra was supposed to be more upscale and the Silverado more of a work truck. Guess what I drive.

Well I went out to my buddys new crew cab gmc sierra and looked at shocks, leaf springs, and tires. Everything seemed to be exactly the same he even has the tow package and his rides like a different truck than my silverado even though they seem identical. Same goes for my boss sierra so and his is exactly the same so there is a difference I beleive somewhere but I cant put my finger on it. The crew cab I got for a loaner was a silverado and it rode just like mine pretty rough.
