07 Tahoe Radio AUX Input

Recommended Posts

Seems like I have to really crank the volume all the way up on my MP3 player

to get any decent volume through the radio when plugged into the aux plug on the front of the factory NAV radio.

On my 05 Denali, I had an "interface" deal wired in, and it seemed much louder

when the MP3 player was plugged in. Seemed like it was feeding before it went through the amp.

Any thoughts if I can amplify the feed going into this jack?

hey... I have an iPod, so I;m not sure what you use---but I initially noticed the same thing... so instead of using the line out, which was from the bottom of the iPod, I used the top part, where you would normally plug in your headphones on the iPod as the connecter----see, I have an in car charger that I use, and it has its own 3.5mm input so that you can charge the iPod (which plugs in from the bottom "line out" part) and then plug in an audio out devise like a cassette adaptor, or a line out/in cord that you can get from like radio shack etc...

So now instead of pluggin it in from the bottom, I use the headphone jack, and just crank the volume up on my ipod----normally when I do that the sound distorts really bad---but its either the AUx input is a really good one, or the MONSTER CABLE that I bought really is making the difference because HEAR THIS-----when I crank up the sound on my iPod FULL BLAST----it does not distrort the sound in the car by even .1% !!!!!!! Its amazing! I crank the volume on the car and I'm good to go---jsut as loud as a CD---its perfect...

(didnt feel like doin a spell check :) )

You also want to make sure that your maximum volume setting on your iPod is set high enough. Go into Settings and click on Volume Limit and adjust it to your liking. Make sure you press the center button to lock it in.

I just have a gerneric MP3 player a 20gig iRiver.

I will try to plug in from the headphone jact to the AUX input on the radio and see if that makes a difference.

I just found that to get decent volume out of the AUX input I etiher had to run the voliume up to 20 on the player (which is really loud through the headphones), or crank the radio volume to the point that when you switched back to radio....it would run you out of the truck. No happy medium really. I just thought that this input might not be amplified that much.
