transmission replacement

Hi,

I am currently in the process of replacing my transmission on a 2000 GMC SAVANA 2500 with a 5.0L and 4L60E trans. My question is when replacing a transmission does the flywheel need to be in the exact location as before the removal or can the flywheel be moved from its original position. I am asking because when removing the flywheel to torque convertor bolts I turned the flywheel yet forgot to mark the original position of the flywheel. the flywheel to torque convertor position was marked down though.

Thanks,

Luke

No need to worry. You do not have to mark anything. Just put the tranny in and rotate the torque converter as necessary to bolt it to the flywheel... in any position.
