2007 diesel restrictions? need some help

I am lookin to get a gmc 2500 diesel but waiting for the 07's to come out and now i am concerned i won't be able to do what i want with it i have a few questions....

 

-Will i be able to put a chip in it?

 

-Will i be able to put an exhaust on it?

also the guy at a dealership said that they won't be very moddable and stuff but he didn't seem like he knew much about what he was talking about

I'm sure after a while the aftermarket will have chips, and goodies for it. I'm willing to bet before then end of July of next year they will have programmers for them.

The market is way too large to have no company develop programmers and exhaust for these vehicles. It's not just a GM thing, but all three diesels in the '07 trucks will be different. The LBZ was supposed to be almost impossible to mod at first, but people are doing it now left and right. Check out TheDieselPlace.com for all the mods coming for the LBZ. Just takes time for the companies to develop something that won't destroy the truck. Chris

Hi all, just joiined up, A friend of mine (works as a tech at the local chevy dealer) told me DO NOT mod the new Duramax, GM will not warranty it if they find upgrades to the PCM of otherwise. He told me he would take care of small stuff, but that its hard to hid most of the Gale Banks stuff that can be used. Don't know how true it is, but a guy i work with heard the same thing on his 07 LBZ engine.
