Well, here are the pics of my new truck. This is my first Chevy truck personally. My Dad has had quite a few and has loved them all so I figured with all the rebates and stuff going on right now it was time. I ended up getting $5500 off sticker and then a GM Discount. I got a heck of a deal I'd like to think. Walked out of there for 16k. I've already done a few things to it like a Rhino Liner and some polished stainless Nerf Bars. I plan on some new wheels (American Racing Diamond Backs) and a more aggressive looking tire. Eventually I'd like to upgrade the exhaust but I question how much growl I can get out of the 4.8L V8. Would a good Flowmaster or Corsa sound good with the 4.8l? Comments/suggestions welcome. :flag:

Welcome to the site and nice looking ride!!!:flag: I love my spray in bedliner on my 06, it came with the truck but its worth every penny. I had an 03 reg cab 8 ft bed with the 4.8 and I put a Corsa exhaust on it and it was one of the best sounding exhausts I have ever heard on a truck, period. FLowmaster makes a nice exhaust and is considerabley cheaper, but the Corsa makes a much sweeter note IMO.

Well, I found out today that the dealer will give me a free window tint if I so desire. What do ya think? I'd probably keep it at legal limit, which I believe in Indiana is 30%. I just worry about it peeling or discoloring or something of that nature. Any thoughts?

My tint is 12 years old, and also dealer installed. The tint has faded considerably now, but thats a long time. I say go for it.

I live in Houston where Tint is a must.

HEY! Congrats on the new truck!!! Gotta love driving a new truck. That Red sure does look sharp. Well, keep us updated with pics as you make progress on it. Also, if someone offers you tint for free, take them up on it. Just dont be dumb like me and dump money into tint when its illegal in your state. It only ends up costing you more money. I still havent learned my lesson, because its still on there.... Oh Well, whats a guy gonna do?

Great Looking truck Jason............

I have a regular cab as well.......it has the factory tinted rear window. In terms of percentage I don't know what it would be but I would suggest you go for it.

Have fun!

I went for it. Dealer didn't really tell me what % it is nor did he give me much choice. It's dark but I reckon it'll be alright. I like it so far and that's all that matters. I've really been looking into the exhaust stuff still. I really like that Corsa Sport system but it's pretty $$. Anyone have anything else on their 4.8L that sounds good but for a few less bucks? I know there are plenty out there but all the sound clips I hear are of 5.3Ls and I guess it'll be close but surely a bit different, right?

I had the same problem when I had my 4.8, but they do sound pretty close to the same. The 4.8 sounds excellent with an exhaust. Magnaflow makes excellent stuff also and is very popular. PerformanceProducts.com is offering free shipping on Magnaflow Cat-Back Exhausts, they go for around 525$. Now if you just want the sound and not the look, you could get a Magnaflow (or another brand) welded on where your current muffler is with a new tip for even half that price. But nothing beats the look of two pipes LOL

    • Hello All!   My 2019 Colorado 3.6 LT, 4WD Crew Cab has approximately 77,500 miles and I recently began experiencing the well-known transmission shudder between about 30 and 65 mph. The problem had worsened to the point that I could no longer attribute it to road conditions - and I had decided to bring the truck to the dealer - when recently, I experienced a sudden loss of power while driving at maybe 40 MPH. Several warning lights flashed, the “Check Stabilitrack” message appeared, and the Check Engine, Stabilitrack, and Traction Control icons remained illuminated. The truck regained driving power, but it stayed in a low gear with unusually high RPMs for the speed. (limp mode?) Because I was only about two miles from home, driving slowly, I was able to make it back and run an OBD-II scan, which showed fault codes U0101, P0700, and U0100. My next trip in the truck was to drive it to the dealer the following day. That trip began normally, but after about a mile I experienced another loss of power, along with the same warning lights and the same “Check Stabilitrack” message. As before the truck remained driveable, but again operated at an abnormally high RPM-to-speed ratio and seemed stuck in a single gear. About a mile later, the dashboard lit up once more, this time displaying “Check 4WD.” Soon after that, I arrived at the dealer. I have verified that the truck still has its original factory transmission fluid, which means it has never received the corrective fluid exchange outlined in GM Technical Service Bulletin #18-NA-355.  That was Thursday of last week and I've heard nothing yet from the dealer.    According to Technical Service Bulletin #18-NA-355 and the build date of my truck, my truck should have the newer LV fluid. I've done a little research and read something about a problem with the wiring harness as well.   Anyone have an insights into this situation?  Thank you!!

    • Did you even read this article?   Even the title of the article says "U.S.-Iran Deal Doesn’t Mean a Swift Return of Oil and Gas Flows"   Remember, crude oil prices are based on FUTURE purchases by the oil companies.  Gas prices are based on FUTURE purchases by the station.  This article stated that many of the oil producing nations have to restart their processes to get the oil produced.  Then the oil has to be shipped to wherever.  And it doesn't get there overnight.  And most of that oil is not coming here. Check out this site:  https://afdc.energy.gov/data/10621   A graph will pop up to show where the US imports their oil from.  Notice that there isn't a lot of import from OPEC and Iraq.  Most of the US import comes from Canada. The US oil produces are selling their oil on the open market, which is why the US fuel costs went up.  So you're correct, the US oil companies are going to slow walk the price downward.
